Crafted from 1/10oz of 99.99% pure gold, this release from the Australian Lunar Series III celebrates the 2027 Year of the Goat, the eighth animal in the 12 year Chinese lunar zodiac.
According to Chinese tradition, each lunar zodiac animal is believed to influence the characteristics of those born under its sign. People born in the Year of the Goat, including 2027, 2015, 2003, 1991 and 1979, are traditionally associated with gentleness, creativity and compassion. Known for their calm and thoughtful nature, those born under this sign are also said to possess resilience and a strong appreciation for artistic expression.
The coin’s reverse portrays a majestic goat standing proudly on a mountain plain, surrounded by rugged terrain with a solitary tree in the distance. The design also incorporates the Chinese character for ‘Goat’, the inscription ‘GOAT 2027’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, accompanied by the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination.
For added authenticity, the reverse incorporates a micro engraved security feature concealed within the design. Visible only under magnification, this detail is designed to make the coin significantly more difficult to counterfeit.
