2027 Perth Mint Lunar Goat Silver Coin - 1kg

Celebrating the eighth animal of the Chinese zodiac, the 2027 Perth Mint Year of the Goat 1kg Silver Coin is struck from 1 kilogram of 99.99% pure silver as part of The Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series III.

Those born under the sign of the Goat, including 2027, 2015, 2003, 1991 and 1979, are traditionally associated with qualities such as gentleness, creativity and compassion. The Goat is also regarded as a symbol of harmony, resilience and thoughtful determination.

The coin’s reverse depicts three goats, a mature goat, a young goat and a baby goat, grazing peacefully beneath a plum blossom tree. The scene represents the auspicious phrase “Three Goats Bring Bliss”, symbolising the end of winter, the arrival of spring, renewal and prosperous new beginnings. The plum blossom represents purity, resilience and hope.

Also incorporated into the reverse design are the Chinese character for ‘Goat’, the inscription ‘GOAT 2027’, and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark. The design was created by Perth Mint designer Natasha Muhl.

The obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, together with the coin’s weight, fineness and AUD $30 monetary denomination. The coin is Australian legal tender.

For additional security, the reverse incorporates a micro engraved letter within the design. This authentication feature is designed to make the coin more difficult to counterfeit and can only be detected under magnification.

Each coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule to help preserve its condition.
